Hazel Shrubb nee Ramplin, of 12 Rubiton Street Wollongbar 2477 N.S.w. Australia, writes,
“I would like to get in touch with my Acton Derwntwater School (London W3) friends who were evacuated with me at the beginning of WW2. We went by train to Devonshire, where we were dispersed to several towns. Their names are: Megan Jones, Margaret Austin and Robert Eagle. He was billeted with me in Teign village, near Hennock. Robert was a good friend and I still wonder where he is. Lucy Chapman lived with me at Mrs Lydia Lewis’s home in Teign village and we walked to Hennnock School. Please print my address in The Evacuee to expediate any contact and I know you are swamped with letters (and emails) and only have a small staff. Also I would like to open an Evacuees Association in this country as many Brits migrated here soon after the war.
