Kathleen Cooke nee Tozer would love to hear from anyone evacuated from Cave Road School in Plaistow and that area. They went to places in Wiltshire such as Wooton Bassett and Thornhill. Mary Duncan now Douse asks for news of ‘St Anselms’ of Tooting Beck, London. Evacuated initially to Horndean, Hants, moved due to bombing (we were close to Portsmouth) to us for a few weeks and from there to Daventry, Northants, where we were split up and parcelled out to the residents. Joyce Mangan appeals to any member who was evacuated from Heckford Street and Broad Street schools (later changed to Nicholas Gibson) on The Highway, Stepney, East London to Cuckfield in Sussex. Cuckfield has now set up a museum and is looking for stories and photos of children who stayed there during the war. David Brown asks whether anyone who remembers Margaret Newey, who was evacuated from Dartford with her school to a village near Kingsbridge, Devon.
