Brian Morris writes,
“My two brothers and my sister were evacuated from Dover in 1941. We were always separated and were moved to various homes. Eventually I was moved to Cardigan in North Wales and lived with a Mr & Mrs Morris, they had a young daughter named Sally and were very kind to me. During that time – 1944 - , I had a friend, a young girl named Ann Ingram. I have wondered about her many times and would love to contact her.”

Derek Finch of 33a Rayside, Basildon, Essex SS14 1NB writes, “I was evacuated from Cornwall School, Manor Park on the third Sunday in June (I don’t know the date). There were three double decker bus loads of us. We departed from Paddington Station, not knowing where we were going. After a day’s journey we arrived at St Austell in Cornwall. I have traced 7 of the 40 who went to Pentewan. I do not know where the rest of the children went to. I’ve also contacted 6 who were privately evacuated to Pentewan. I was there for five years. I would appreciate it if anyone who reads this would contact me.

Deborah & David Boarder of Tasmania, Australia write,
“I am writing in the hope that you may be able to help me locate the descendants of two children who were evacuated to Canada. Their names are Joyce and Dorothy Prowse,They would have been aged about 13 and 12 in 1940. I have been told that their CORB numbers were 1483 & 1484 and they landed at Pier 21, Halifax. It appears that they were well looked after by their Canadian sponsors, so much so that they refused to return to England at the end of the war. They were eventually joined by their parents, father’s name Alfred. I am certain the girls married. Thanks and best wishes from Tasmania. David
