The Evacuees Reunion Association

For the 3.5 million children who were evacuated during the Second World War. Formed with the support of the Imperial War Museum

About Us

The Evacuees Reunion Association is a non-profit making registered charity and has its origin in the 50th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in 1995 when a few evacuees, wearing what has become their distinctive emblem, a tied-on luggage label, took part in the ‘Great Parade’ in London.
Members will be aware that the ERA was awarded £100k from the Big Lottery Fund.

The Evacuees Reunion Association is one of only three organisations to be given the top awards. (The other two are the Red Cross and the TUC).  This money is ring-fenced and was allocated primarily to create a national data-base of surviving Second World War evacuees, but the ERA is also planning to use some of the money to fund some commemorative events across the country. It is hoped that the grant will help raise the profile of the story of the evacuation of thousands of children both within the UK and abroad at the outbreak of war and the following years.
