PARHAM’S 60TH ANNIVERSARY: Saturday 4th October 2008
This year Parham House, near Storrington in West Sussex, is cele-brating its 60th anniversary of being open to visitors. To mark the occasion and to coincide with the E.R.A. members weekend at Hayling Island, Lady Emma Barnard is extending an open invitation to all evacuees to visit Parham on Saturday 4th October 2008. Lady Emma is the great granddaughter of the Hon. Clive and Mrs Pearson who looked after a number of evacuees at Parham. Visitors will have the opportunity to see items that were made by
the evacuees during their stay at Parham. The House and its fabulous walled gardens will be open for visitors to enjoy and refresh-ments.
(sandwiches, teas.etc will be available) to purchase. It is also hoped there will be some interesting persons with wartime associations attending.
There is a nominal entry fee charge of £5 per person. Please book in advance, either direct to Parham. Tel.01903 742021 or through the ERA office. This will be an event not to miss.

YOUR CHANCE TO SEE A LARGE MODEL OF THE NATIONAL MEMORIAL TO THE EVACUATION Wednesday 10th September 2008
The venue is the Cinema Hall of the Imperial War Museum, Lambeth Road, London The start time is 2pm, go home at 4pm. Admission free. Among those present will be Michael Aspel, Maurice Blik the sculptor (plus Karen and James of course). Refreshments will be available to purchase at the Cafeteria.
You will also have the opportunity to enter the draw for a model of two of the children on the monument. It will be of a boy and girl, height twelve inches,standing on a black base. To purchase the cost would be hundreds of pounds but the foundry have donated it to the ERA.
THE HAYLING ISLAND WEEKEND: Friday 3rd to Monday 6th October 2008

Please let us have them as soon as possible We hope to organize transport from Hayling Island to Parham on the Saturday. Details to follow. The Prisoner of War Association Will be holding their Parade on the Sunday, we are again invited to participate and show our support, Transport will be available. Reg Baker will be parading our Newly designed standard.
